My two elk rifles are an ULA in 7mm Rem Mag and a semicustom 700 in 7STW. I bought a few hundred 154gr interbond blems that shoot well. What is your guys opinion on those for elk, vs say buying some 175 partitions or other 175 bullets. (I hunt in western WA where shots are 10 yards to as far as your dare shoot) Thanks.

If your rifles like them you will have dead elk.

7RM + 160gr NP or Grand Slam.
Aim for the exit hole.

I would dare to guess that those 154gr. Interbonds would work quite well if your rifle likes them.

Not a 7mm, but I made a perfect "Texas heart shot" on a mulie just before he escaped over a ridge (a few years ago) using Light Magnum with 180 Interlock in a .30-06. The pelvis was destroyed, and so was the bullet. Nothing but fragments found. It took a neck shot to finish the job. If you like the brand-and I do-I would suggest switching to Interbonds for bigger game. The bullet should work on whatever presentation the game offers. Best wishes, jack

Any accurate slug that fits a 7-mm barrel should suffice. I run 140 and 145's.

Best wishes, jack Were you able to go up the shoot or did you have to drive through the rear quarter? If you don't go right up the poop-shoot, the area in the pelvic girdle is very dense compared to a hollow chest cavity. Bullets don't always react well if driven fast into something dense.
