I'd bet the winners (Kenyans) were pretty much use to running in the heat, though maybe a bit dryer heat as compared to a humid heat like in Boston.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Really? Well, 4300 qualified runners disagreed with you, and sat this one out.

Because of the weather, or just didn't show up due to travel costs, injuries, scheduling, etc.?..

The former, according to several sources. Take from it what you will.

Well, my sis and her running partner finished in just over 4 hours, about 30 mins slower than their normal time. They decided early to take it easy, walked through all the aid stations to make sure they were getting enough water. Everyone ran slower than usual, even the elites. Congratulations to all the finishers!

+1. Two of my student workers ran it too. Congrats to your sis and all who made it, and special congrats to the wheelchair entrant who broke the previous record.

Oh thank goodness. I thought they were all going to dive in balls first and turn it into a televised Bantaan Death March.

I won a five-mile footrace once, against actual Africans, in Africa. About 3,000 Africans seen it happen. They couldn't believe it. See, they had me profiled already. 'Course that was more'n thirty years back.

I don't recall a kudu collapsing at the end of it, just a can of evaporated milk as first prize. Sweetest milk I ever drank.

My geatest moment of glory that didn't involve a woman grin

Is a number in the triple digits enough for you, or would you like a more specific one?

I just hope public money wasn't used to help the stupid bastids.
If so, each should be charged appropriately.
