Twist should be 1/14. Should shoot 87 grain bullets more accurate than larger grain. Model is an EG. Mfg date is approx l954-55. For an exact date you will need to furnish the lever boss code. It is a letter within a small oval, located just obove the screw that connects the lever to the gun frame. Likely will need magnification to read it. Nice tang sight, is it marked. GW

It's an EG.

Looks to have had a stock repair and the tang sight looks like one of the newer production Marbles.

None of this should stop it from being a very productive freezer filler.

Thanks to all. The lever boss is unreadable, maybe if I get a better magnifying glass and good light I'll make something out. Mid 50s makes it match my 300 Sav (which is what I wanted).

Last owner told me he put the Marble sight on it. Stock has been indeed been repaired, looks like quite some time ago.

This came with it:

Use the brass, collect the boxes???? Some are still loaded.

The Winchester Cartridge Cases (upper right) have been converted to 22-250.

Boxes will make a nice display. Standing bear box is the most appealing to me and likely other collectors. Condition not that good. Collectors normally look for full boxes in near org condition. GW
