Couldn't believe this when I saw it. Talk about an attack on the rural way of life! Another example of a big-government city dweller's attempt to fix something that has been done from time immemorial, and obviously isn't broke...mad

There's a blurb on Fox News about it too...

There should be a massive resistence to the Department of Agriculture or whatever govt. entity tries to enforce such stupid and unnecessary rulings. This is complete and utter bullschit!

We don't need a department of Ag, they exist to lessen the production of food and keep prices high. WTF do we want that?

What's even more disgusting is that the proposed new laws are following the UN guidelines.

And then when they turn 18 we suddenly expect kids to develop a work ethic.

The Dept of ag is right in the pocket of Big business and big labor. The rules of dust are a big problem as well. WTF are they going to come up with next?

Don't worry, this is just a stop gap measure until the Association of Southern Slavery of White Anglo-Saxon Descendents Union (aka A.S.S.W.A.D) gets some bailout funds to finance community organizing of rural middle schools.

That's definitely a good thing, but I'd want to see exactly how "ownership" is defined (e.g., 100% ownership?) And lots of folks farm their own land and tenant farm adjacent properties all together, what about then? Either way though, it still seems like another step towards undermining the agricultural way of life, where kids might help on their neighbors' farms too, and vice versa...

first - there won't be a massive objection to this type legislation since only a very, very small percentage of americans make their living off the farm these days, thus not an issue of concern for the vast majority of americans.

second - i own farms and live in a farming community, and regardless of what obama or his government says, kids will continue to help out on the farm until they finish high school and either go to work or go to college.

just another reason why it should be "anyone but obama" in nov.

Article on Fox News last night or night before, they DID back down over massive objection, 18,000 objections in a couple of days, plus outrage from both side of the aisle in Congress, administration says they will not be approaching the subject again as long as they are in office.

Every once in a while the voice of the people IS heard. smile
