Years ago I purchased a K98 Mauser that had been captured by the Serbs and scrubbed. Three years ago my Cousin's son Dustin went to Gunsmith school up in Minnesota and needed a Mauser to work on. So I sent him the Mauser with a Wilson barrel in 7MM and he did all the work on the bolt(I included a FN shroud), installed the barrel, chambered it in 7MM-08, drilled and tapped for a scope and got an A. Then I polished and blued it, installed a Bold trigger, used a commercial triggerguard with hindged floorplate, finished a Boyds stock and hung a Burris BP 4.5-14 scope on it. Total investment for Action, Barrel, Trigger, Shroud, Stock, Scope, Mounts and Bases.......$595. Then I sold the Nazi stock and hardware on Epay for $140 so the grand total is $455. I would say that's a budget custom! Shoots Too! Regards, Rick.

Nice rifle for such a small investment; heck that is nice no matter HOW you slice it!
