All: I seen the Model 70 thread so I thought we could start another probably smaller one for the 71 fans. 1955 Win 71 Deluxe Standard 99% Have the original sling and swivels, though not pictured. RAS

Nice one. I wouldn't carry it in the woods if it were mine

This is my slightly upgraded Standard model, suffering, unfortunately from some storage effects. A good shooter, which will be seeking a new home shortly. Age and infirmity have cut back on my hunting activity.

Age and infirmity have cut back on my hunting activity. Sounds like that one is going to the classifieds. Despite whatever you say about use, that still looks like a pretty 71 Deluxe to me. Good luck with it. Looks like I am not the only one with a pretty 71. Anybody got a carbine? Never owned a 94 despite finding some real beauties. To me, the 71s and pre 64 70s (particularily pre war) are the epicenter of class and quality with a Winchester. 88s are really cool as well. Jeff

That's some darn appealing, "man space" there Don When it comes to M71's, I always think about the very few M71's I've passed up in .45/70 and .33. I didn't buy them because I thought they were too expensive. In retrospect....

No pics of mine but have a standard and deluxe. Both local hunting guides guns from the Adirondack mountains of NY. Hunt them both, rain or shine whit a drying out and oiling in between. Both of these guns went straight to the woods and both earned the care takers keep, if they could only talk! My other favorite is my Wife's grandfathers 95 in 30-40, goes out every opening weekend, rain or shine, went to hunting camp the day he got it, left for home the year he passed away, sat there for close to 20 years till it found its way back to the same woods with me. I have pictures and post cards of 30+ deer at a time hung in front of the hotel with him and the 95 in them.
I don't want a pickle, I just wanna ride my motorcycle
