Looks like a few guide guns in ss .35 rem are available. Any opinions on a .35 with a 18.5 inch barrel for deer hunting in Georgia or anywhere you have short shots and a lot of cover.

I can't think of a better setup for hunting them GA hardwood bottoms. I was using my old Marlin375 in the bottoms this year.

My new GG in 35 came in yesterday. Not real happy with the wood to metal fit, but it does shoot good out of the box. I ran 40 Factory 200 corlokt's through it today, averaging 2" with factory sights. I'm sure with some tinkering and better sights that will be cut in half. If your in the market, a fellow on Auction arms from Georgia is selling them for $499, unlike the folks on the other 2 sites wanting 6 or better.

I can't wait to get my hands on one of the new 18.5" 336SS .35 Remingtons... I thought my 20" 336CS was sweet this year in the woods, and it was very fast acting for a critter bent on making me a chew toy.....

That critter got a dirt nap <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I got mine in a couple of days ago. Wood wasn't anything special but a little darker and straight grain. Wood to metal fit was fine. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. But it sure is purty!!
