Yowzer! Great bird. Hope your next one gets in to about 15 yards on you before you get a chance to shoot. Talk about a stress test......

Yes, didn't know it was that far, or I'd of never shot at it. Was in a plowed field and had nothing to help judge distance with. But the Hevi-shot did the job. Hunter01

Nice bird!! This past spring season was my first season that I didn't score. Very tuff hunting, woods were very quiet, birds just didn't want to play, and very little gobbling action heard this year.

Hang in there. Do your homework with scouting, practicing calls, read as much as you can on turkey hunting, and watch and listen to as many tapes as you can too. I'm no expert by any means, and we can never stop learning more on this great sport of turkey hunting. Keep at it, you'll get one, and when you do it will be a thrill you'll remember for the rest of your life. Good luck next season.

Hunter101, I think your read my last post wrong. This wasn't my first spring season hunting turkeys. This was my first season that I didn't score!! I've been hunting spring birds since 1988, and Mature Tom's only since 1992.

Sorry MayTom, I took your post the wrong way. Thought maybe you were new to turkey hunting and just wanted to give some encouragement. Good hunting, and have a happy holiday. Hunter01
