picked up a ar15 at a gunshow this weekend. to my surprise it had a pre-ban e.a co. lower. had to strip it and get it up on gunbroker. essential arms went out of business in 1993 only a year before the ban.legal to build these in assault rifle banned states.

for those people that live in restricted states, they can build an "assult" rifle that is grandfathered in, which means that it is legal for them to own it.

out of curiosity, what are you asking for it? I've seen stripped PB lowers going for $7-800 on ar15.com.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I'm guessing you've run the serial numbers? Because EA is still in business... back years ago they also made some cheap cast lowers.

My understanding on these us that if the lettering is raised they are cast. Is that true?

Wow, $500 for a cast lower... makes me appreciate where I live. But Kudos to you for starting it at a penny, let them do what they will.

Living in New Yorkistan like I do, I've considered a PB lower several times. To my way of thinking the ONLY advantage you get with one here is you can legally have an adjustable stock on it. I know it means you can legally have a "flash suppressor" and a bayonet lug, but really, I don't see those as a huge advantage. not for an extra $6 or $700 dollars anyway.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I am looking for ar15 lower for my first rifle model; this is for ongoing project to get my internship in the company. Do you know where I can get details to build ar15 lower and how much it going to cost me.
