Hunting Brown Bear is a pure adrenaline.
The brown bear is the King of the European forests, the greatest carnivorous animal met in Romania.
Here we have the biggest density from all Europe!!!!
Brown bears can even exceed 400 kg. The hunting methods are: of delay, seizing and with beaters.
The fur and the skull are the trophy. It is a fact that the biggest world trophies at fur and skull were from hunting brown bear in Romania. The brown bear fur world record is owned by a trophy of 687.79 points and is from 1983, and the skull world record has 69.47 points and is from 1994.
Also, the most valuable 10 brown bear furs and 5 from the first 10 skulls around the world come from hunting brown bear in Romania

If had the money I'd be all over this. Dam, that would be a dream hunt. Those bears look pretty big! How would the cost of one of these hunts compare with a brown bear/grizzly hunt in Alaska I wonder?

Was this a legal hunt? Why hide the identities of the participants?

Born wild,

the records you re mentionning are under CIC but what about SCI ?

it can be very interesting to see the differences between those well fed bears and a peninsula or kodiak bears ...

I'm DROOLING! I need to check into something like that! That looks like a whack'em and stack'em hunt to me.

Great trophies.

Damn ! Driven bears ! I'm not sure I would like to hunt them that way but sure it could provide good adrenaline shots, especially as compared to driven boars.

What do you use to do with the meat ?

one of the hunting shows on US tv last week was on Romania and hunting chamois and driven brown bear......the driven bear hunting looks just plain nuts from here but has to be alot of fun when the adrenalin wears off....

It' not quit so :)) the hunting of chamois is a very challenging hunt , you need to be in good shape to do this , of course that there is an alternative ....to find a place when you can shoot chamois from the car , but after my opinion is not a hunt . You can rent also a helicopter but is a little beet expensive.
...regarding the driven brown bear hunt it's not a crazy thing, there are some rules . You have to shoot when the bear pass from you ...you can shoot in front only when you are very sure.
Of course that you will stay in a high place that give you the possibility to shoot again....but anyway is pure adrenalin

the chammy hunt they showed is bout what i think it would be like for the most part.....real close to our mountain goat hunting....lots of hiking in verticle country....

the brown bear drive just looks nuts from my end as thats far different than how griz are hunted here.....would like to see it first hand myself, looks pretty cool....im not much for stand hunting but i think i could have fun with that....
