We have on guy in our camp that I think is half elk because the altitude doesn't seem to effect him at all.

I got my 1st choice ML tag, Area 12.

I put in for pt. 1st choice and a 1st rifle tag 2nd choice. My pts. went up obviously since I put in for a pt. 1st. How do I tell if I got my 2nd choice 1st rifle tag?

Go to hunting, big game, then draw results- pref points. It will say what you drew and with which choice and what they are sending you if unsuccessful. It should be up by now

This is what I have. ELK UNSUCCESSFUL REFUND CHECK 4 0 2012 At the bottom of the page this is what I have. They are all up by 1. Species Points Weighted Points Year Elk 5 0 2012 Deer 6 0 2012 So I guess I did not get my 1st rifle tag as second choice.

1st rifle is usually a good tag to get. What were your odds for a 2nd choice?

So....what does "2012 - 481 NON RES ELK APP" mean? I actually applied for a preference point only as a 1st choice and for the hunt as a second choice, so perhaps I can't tell if I got the 2nd choice hunt yet?

I drew the topical "Leftover Draw Letter"! Put in for a second choice ML tag that last year had a 20% chance of being drawn as second. No joy! So while I view this letter and figure out what I want to do the DOW will keep my app fee. Heaven forbid that I'd have to get an archery tag if I can't get a leftover tag from the list that I want!
