If they didn't scare us a little, why would we hunt them? Having that tingle run through you as you can hear the bear real close splashing as he walks along the lake shore, but can't see it yet on a stalk is one of the hunting experiences of a lifetime.

Great trophy. Big bears truly impress me and make me shiver a tad. I noted on the slideshow the bear's skull when viewed head-on appears to slant down considerably on the sides from a ridge in the middle of the skull. Never noted that before.
Bears are definitely apex predators.
The way life should be.

Thanks again for ALLLLL the positive accolades! I am far from a professional writer...all I can say is, that as I remembered the account, it was easy to share in words what my eyes, mind and heart were doing at the time.
