It's not listed on his web sight anymore and I heard there was suppose to be a buyer that would start up production in the future....am I 100% sure no I'm not but this was told to me by a friend but was suppose to be on the quiet, so Mr Lambert has the best Idea... Jim would likely give have the inside scoop!

Thats good news. The Cloward designed pattern on these stocks is the best I have found for a Model 70.

The Rimrock stock's were made by Robertson's Composites of Ottowa,Canana. I had all the info at one time but cant seem to find it, they were bought out by a company in Montana and were supposed to be back in limited production sometime this year.

Not so, Ian made his own designs for some years and went into bankruptcy last year; last I heard from a mutual friend, he is working on re-financing and getting back to production....hope he does!
Rimrocks came from Jim Borden and I have several from him, bought in blank form. I also hope that RR stocks become available again and they are just like the Borden ones.

kutenay not sure if you are referring to my post or the one ahead of me but Rimrock stocks were made by a medical company in California and the rights to the fiberglass technology were sold to Jim Borden several years ago to my knowledge

Ian is doing smith work and custom builds, but I don't think he is going to be making stocks. There is a new owner taking over Robertsons, I believe.

They were originally made by Pacific Research in Vashon,Washington a company that makes/made prosthetics. The company was sold to Jim Borden in Pa. Jim kept them going for a few years and sold the molds and technology to someone that plans on introducing them in the near future.

gene I dunno, the first of the several I have on various P-64 Mod. 70s, was purchased from Kesselring Gunshop of Alger, WA, in 1991 and was made by Pacific Research of Vashon Island, WA. I spoke with them by phone several times and was going to have some custom work done, then, the Clinton and Canadian governments made it wellnigh impossible for us to take rifles across the border. Subsequently, I heard that Borden's had purchased the whole shebang from what had become known as "Rimrock-Pacific Research"and I have about a half dozen of those, with another just purchased here on "the Fire" enroute to me as I write. This, will go on a very cherry Brno ZG-47,an original 9.3x62 that I just bought from a friend here in Vancouver, this morning. I like these stocks as well as any I have used and they fit me very well. I have a matched pair of P-64-70s, a .300 and .375 H&H in mint shape in these and they are REALLY comfortable to shoot extended strings of hot loads with, so, I do hope they become available, again and RickBin decides to add them to his "Gear Shop" inventory. We are SO lucky in North America, to have gear of this useful quality that any working guy can afford and we have the hunting to actually use it.

I agree kutenay, we are blessed.
The Rimrock design is a great one. I finished one for my Dad a couple of years ago. Very easy to finish. Came with decelerator installed, swivels, etc....very nice stocks.

The initial maker of rimrock stocks was indeed Pacific Research on Vashon Island.
