what manaufacturers are going to be chambering for this round. I have a big interest in this round as I live in somewhat populated area and would be handy for varmints

I think we all know SLDUCK made a typo...
He's wanting to know about the new 17 Hornady Hornet.
Me also! Can't WAIT 'till Ruger starts chambering the 77 for it! (GRIN!)

Yeah, since I already have a .17 HMR, a .17 Fireball and .17 Remington, there's no big rush for the .17 Hornet. Though that doesn't mean there won't be one in the future....

Rumors abound about CZ chambering the 527 for the Hornady Hornet, and I'm waiting patiently for one of those . Savage and Ruger have also expressed interest, and Anschutz is looking at them, too, according to a poster at www.saubier.com. He isn't any more forthcoming with solid info on the Anschutz, but I have reason to disbelieve him, as he's a good egg...

CZ is in the testng phase right now but the new rifles won't be out until late this yeear or saved for SHOT Show. I'm trying to get some local guys to rebarrel an old CZ 22 Hornet for me.

I love the 17 HMR but often wish it had a bit more when I choose to carry it. 3 grs. more bullet and 1000 fps packed in a modest package have me chomping at the bit enough that I bought a Contender and ordered a barrel from MGM. I should see it in about two weeks. Cute little fellow. Has to be great fox round. If you reload it shouldn't cost much more to shoot than the 17 HMR. I'm hoping Lil gun works as I've a good supply on hand. 17HMR, 17 hornet, 223AI,22-250AI.

I'm praying for a light trim rifle. A CZ, or a Ruger the size of the .357/77. I'd prefer the CZ. I have a CZ in.17 HMR, and it's great for pest control around the house, but I'd like a little more oomph for fox and coyotes.
It's all in the reflexes.

According to someone over at rimfirecentral, CZ should have something out early next year.
edit: Should mention that that's what some rep at CZ had to say.

CZ 527 .17 Hornets should be available mid-October. I'm going to pick out a stock blank tmro.

My 17 Hornet barrel for my Contender showed up today. .650 23". I'll shoot a couple factory rounds over the chronograph tomorrow and see what they run. Hope to spill some blood this weekend with it.

Does that use the same shell holder as the .29 BS?
