When the classic M70's first came out in stainless I bought 300 Win Mag. It shot fine but the magazine was too short. I had John Lewis use factory parts to convert the action to a 375 H&H length. I had planned to build a custom on the action but yesterday I got a deal on a nice custom so this is now extra. Should I part it out or try to sell it whole? How much is a 375 length stainless worth?

Hell Tom, I'd give you $2000 for it if you were a Hamilton fan! Seriously, nice rifle. Check on GB for what they're bringing these days.

Once again, it is "worth" what someone will pay you for it. If you don't plan to use it and want to sell it, list it on an auction site with a starting price of $0.01. At the end of the auction the highest bid is what it is worth. Listing it with a high starting price that nobody will pay just means you don't really want to sell it and accomplishes nothing.

Thats it, start it out at .01 and let the auction begin.

I will go ahead and step out here. I have had a couple of these in 300RUM, hunted one for a couple of years including to Zim one year. Fair price would be in the $750.00 range. You might get more, but that is about right for a fair market value price with the mods you did. It is a WHALE of a nice rifle,BTW, are you SURE you want to sell it? What did you get in its place (And please don't tell me/us that its replacement is some sort of a Model 700 or other similar push feed crapola.....)

What you have is a 300 win mag action with a spacerless mag box and matching follower. This is not a .375 Magnum model 70 action. The 375 action has shorter rear base spacing and a longer loading port. The 300 ultra, and weatherby mag were built on the 375 action as was the .416 rem mag and 7mm stw. Id say your gun is worth around $700 give or take.

A shorter bolt stop and ejector. Most smiths just grind these down, instead of replacing them.
