I had to get something else up instead of the Dillon post in the shot shell heading, so I thought a question on buck and ball loads for the Judge type weapons might be interesting.
I have loaded for a buddy using some 40cal bullets and a charge of blue dot, and it has worked out well. Velocity at or under 1000fps with a 280 to 300gr throw weight. Used a short wad with no petals and a roll crimp on a Federal case cut to the proper length. Shot point of aim at 10yds, clustered well, not quite vertical.
