I like the MR myself. I don't like the DBM but prefer the hinged floorplate.....The TI's and 7's are great looking rifles too....although I only have one remington rifle right now (788), I'd like to aquire a nice Mountain rifle one of these days....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Since I like Art Deco and Cubism I would look for ole' 660 in reasonable caliber like .243 or .308. The Models 725 and early 700s with blued stainless barrels were also very nice weapons.

For me it would be an early Brown stocked KS.

A lot of guys like the early M700s from 1962 to early 1970s, especially ADL carbines in short action calibers.

I love those old 660's with that dog-leg bolt. My Dad has one in .222 I've been trying to cycle out of his safe. For 700's I like the new cdl SF. I like the old adl's in a close second though.

I would love to have a deluxe 725. I don't know if they're any better than the later ones, I just love the way they look.

Since bushmaster "edited" his fn thread around to where my first answer doesn't make sense, I change it to remington model 30 and 720.....pre 700 and yes CRF DOES matter:

I liked that "cut" checkering on some of the mid '70s models, without skip-lines or fleur-de-lis silly stuff.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

From my limited experience:
1. The early BDL wood and blue Mountain Rifles are my favorite
2. I have a few of the Classics, the two most favorite being the .25-06 and .35 Whelen... love to find a .300 H&H
3. I have what I believe to be a 1st gen Ti that I like a bunch.
4. I have a 721 in .300 H&H and a 725 in .270... very well made, but certainly not as pretty as the later 700s.
5. A buddy has an '06 in an ADL from about '86 or so... I keep trying to buy it from him...
6. I have an SS BDL in a synthetic stock... it has a wart (for now) but the finish is worlds better than my SPS rifles.
I pretty much like all of my Remingtons (granted, in varying amounts) but the new ones are certainly not finished to anywhere near the standards of the older ones. (No experience with the new CDL, CDL LTD, new BDL, or XCR II)

I would have given nsaqam a +1 on the Rem Custom shop Model 7 "Brown" KS rifles until I landed a Rem Model 7 AWR Custom Shop "McMillan" KS, stainless, teflon coated, trued action in 250 Savage.

I have had multiple 700's in various chamberings and configurations and my favorite has been my early mtn rifle.

The most desirable version of a Rem 700 is getting one that shoots without having to put a new pipe on it.

Hard to beat a KS or an AWR unless you really like wood stocks, then I'd go with a Classic.
