Is is practical to consider having an adjustable comb installed on a shot gun?

Would be a citori or a superposed.

Thanks...

if it means that the stock will fit you better then Yes.

But even better would be to have a stock made to totally fit you.

Most people do not understand how important stock fit on a shotgun is. IT IS HUGE!

Like the other guys said its all about fit and a shotgunu that does not fit is pretty much worthless. That said I would rather have a stock bent over cutting it. If it a cast off/on issue bending can be the way to go.

Agree a stock should fit, but think the adjustable combs are an abomination on a nice shotgun. In addition, too many folks believe that with a perfect fit they won't miss. These same people tend to be constantly fiddling with the comb when they should be concentrating on targets.

Stock fit is never a substitute for technique, though in a practical sense they go hand in hand. That said, for a shotgun that generally fits well (standard dimensions fit the nominal person - 5'10 to 6', standard length arms, normal shoulders, neck, etc.) a person is wise to work on form and technique until these are relatively consistent, then work on perfecting gun fit. If the shooter is not of average build and stature, it will be wise to do some initial adjustment of the stock to get closer to a reasonable fit.
