Any recommendations for inshore guides in the Wilmington / Wrightsville Beach area will be appreciated. Looking for speckled trout, reds, flounder, maybe some spanish mackeral.

Anybody fish this area inshore - recommendations on boat ramps area to fish? How about the Georgetown SC area? Need to put the Bay boat in the salt and enjoy some fishing.

Go to Snows Cut boat ramp (free DGIF ramp) at carolina Beach or ramp at end of Kure Beach near the ferry to Southport.

Look at maps for fishing areas. Tex's Bait and Tackle in Wilmington is best place. Look at the Cut for flounder or run out to the Cape Fear river and down and go to the Basins for great trout, reds and flounder. At the end of Kure beach in front of the Basins, there is a free ramp but the water is shallow, so tide and draft is key. Mouth of the inlets coming out of the ICW normally have great spanish right off the jetties and beaches. One is just up from Carolina Beach DGIF ramp.

Sheepshead on the Rockwall at the Basins and at the bridge over Snows Cut.

Capt Rick Bennett does not guide anymore, but he will take you in your boat and show where and how to fish in the area. (for a fee :)) Google him.

Pretty easy to google Carolina Beach fishing reports and see what is biting, where and on what. Supposed to be pretty good right now.

We will be at Carolina Beach next week and fishing Sunday with Capt Jeff Wolfe in those areas.

I am retiring to Wilmington next year.

As for guides

Depends

That area has seveal that fish micro skiffs, fly rods or spinning

Capt Allan Cain
Capt Matt Wirt
Capt Seth Vernon all are micro skiff guides and very very good Just google them

Capt Jeff Wolfe is very good, but stays booked.

Capt Rick Bennett acts as booking agent for other guides and can hook you up short notice with whatever you want normally now.
