Since so many stories get told about poor customer service, I figure that this one about outstanding customer service has got to get told.
As some picked up, I had a few minor technical difficulties with a Bansner stock that I was using for my 7-08 project. Basically the stock got screwed up, and it was probably my fault.
I called Bansners to ask a few questions about it, and see if I could avoid making any mistakes in the future. They pointed out that what I had done may have caused the problem, but they wanted to check out the stock to make sure. They asked me to send it back.
At no time did I ever ask for or expect to recieve a new stock. I tried hard to not imply that I was looking to get something free, lest they get that impression. They offered to replace the stock, but I told them that it wasn't necessary.
I sent the stock back as requested, and have not followed up since.
Lo and behold I got home tonight to find a brand new stock on my front porch, complete with a Decelerator recoil pad installed to my LOP.
Kudos to a great company, and great service. They'll have my business for a long time.

What did you do that might have caused the problem? Might detour me from making the same mistake. I'm GOOD at screwing things up, as you well know.

Cas does the Bansner stock only come unfinished? I can't tell from looking at their website.I am going to put my new Weaterby Ultra Light in a new stock this spring and I have it narrowed down to a Borden Rimrock or Bansners.I just don't want to have to install a recoil pad, sand and paint. Thanks, powdr

Bansners do only come unfinished. They will do a full install for you, but you're looking at triple the blank price, or more.
I'd bet Rick could set you up with a nicely finished stock for a reasonable sum.

I have one the Mr Coleman installed the Decel pad, filled in the "pits", sanded, and primed. A buddy of mine locally paints for a body shop. I had him to paint the stock for me. I am using the action for another project so if anyone wants the stock, make me an offer. It is bedded for SA 700 with factory lug w/LOP at 13.5.

Ken, I have a Banser on my last 338/06 that Rick painted black with silver webbing, and installed the pad. I bought it second hand and have about $350 invested not counting the bedding. I like the feel a bit better than my Mcmillan (not saying it's better, just it fits me well) Can send pic if you want I have another sitting in my gun room awaiting the return of a new project. When completed the stock will account for about one third the cost of the finished rifle (Not counting action I already owned)

I broke a High Tech stock that I had bought from High Tech before Bansner owned them. I called Bansner and asked about the warranty, and told them I'd broke it and that I hadn;t bought it from them.
They told me to send it to them, and they replaced it with no further questions.

All I know is that the're a very good stock. I bought a 721 '06 with a 20" barrel that came with one. I topped in off with an old Weaver K 1.5 and it made for a very handy package.........Essex
