Time to find out which sabot slugs work best in an old Mossy 500 12ga I just picked up. Also got a new scope for it, so I'll be putting some rounds through it for sure. I'll use a lead sled some but still like to shoot several rounds without to get the feel for the gun and am not looking forward to the beating I'm in for. I don't want to end up like this or this . Any opinions or preferences? I'll probably have to sand/grind some myself, since they -unbelievably- don't have a custom fit for my model. Thx

KE look better and tame recoil better than a PD, but the LS will tame recoil better than any recoil pad I've seen. The LS is not as durable, but it serves it's purpose quite well.

Scottydog,
I still like the Pachmayr, as the other feel "spongy" to me, though I do believe they offer a softer felt recoil.

I'm a fan of the Pachmayr myself.
Have you thought of using a slip-on recoil pad? Don't know how much it would affect POA, etc., but could switch it between guns also.

Kick-eez since we are talking shotguns.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Do they both melt? Or is one less prone to melting than the other. I have one on my 416Taylor that really helps. It's the only big bore I can still shoot. I can't remember which one I put on it, but it's the second one on that gun, and it has a weepy spot on the one corner. Thanks Bfly

My thoughts exactly, not as pretty as a Pachmayr, but for a hunting big caliber rifle, the Limbsaver is great. I have several.
