Just wondering what the general opinion on this rifle is.
They have come out with a left handed version (I'm left handed) and I was looking at one in .223 to use as a informal paper puncher/coyote rifle.
Thoughts?

Outside of being ugly, they are shooters. They have the standard Savage barrel and barrel nut setup. The biggest problems are a flexy stock and heavy trigger. Both problems can be overcome. I did a bit of a trigger job on one for a friend and got it to 3# and clean. The forearm can be opened up a bit to keep it from flexing against the barrel or can be stiffened with a dose of epoxy.

My friends rifle was sub-moa out of the box. I am a lefty too and if I hadn't just bought a left hand Savage 11, I would be interested in one myself.

i bought one in 223 in 2011, just for coyotes. while the axis is certainly no model 700, mine has never failed to function, and is very accurate.

The geometry of the pistol grip doesn't work for me, but I'm right-handed and have all sorts of options that a lefty doesn't have.

An older Savage 110/10 et al is a better rifle in nearly every respect.
Plenty of LH 110/10's out there since they've made them since 1958.

Had to do a trigger job on the one my friend bought, but outside of that the rifle is pretty nice and shoots very well.
