"Those who would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
***Benjamin Franklin***

Romney was sold to Republicans by liberal media. At least 90% of political journalists are liberal Democrats. Using classic propaganda techniques, it duped Republicans into believing that he was the only viable candidate to beat Obama. However, it knew all along that Romney had no chance of beating Obama. That is why the liberal media propagandized naive Republicans into believing he was the only viable Republican candidate.

Romney is a RINO, which means he's a neocon. He is an elitist globalist. His Massachusetts socialized medicine indicates his loyalty to big, socialistic government. He is a gun grabber.

If the Republican convention is not brokered and Romney remains the candidate, I will not vote, not that it matters in CA. There is no hope for Republicans in CA. Obama doesn't even have to campaign here and he'll will all of this state's 57 electoral votes. CA is dominated by liberal Democrats and RINO's, which accounts for this state being broke and sinking. Moreover, Romney is not much different than Obama. Obama will win in 2012 because he's running against an extremely vulnerable Republican candidate. However, even if Romney had a prayer of winning CA's electoral votes, I will never vote for the neocon globalist!

I have been exposed to the theory that Romney's candidacy portends the end of the Republican Party, which is fine by me. I did not leave the Republican Party, it left me.

There is rumor that many of Romney's delegates will switch allegiance to Paul at the convention. Let's pray this rumor is not rumor.

I stopped voting for the less evil candidate years ago. The last president that I vigorously supported and was proud to call my president was St. Ronald Reagan. Both Bushes were inveterate neocons. Bush 41 did not lose to Clinton because he broke his promise of no new taxes. He lost because of his globalist refrain of, "...new world order," which is code for one-world-government. He duped us into Operation Desert Storm in order to protect the wealth of the Kuwaiti Royal Family. How many of our soldiers sacrificed their lives in order to prevent the Kuwaiti Royal Family from having to find real jobs?

"All wars are follies, very expensive and very mischievous ones. When will mankind be convinced of this, and agree to settle their differences by arbitration? Were they to do it, even by the cast of a dye, it would be better than by fighting and destroying each other."
***Benjamin Franklin***

There were only two wars our country should have fought: The American Revolution and the War of 1812. Two time Congressional Medal of Honor winner, General Smedley Budler, was right on target: war is a racket that makes bankers and industrialists rich at the expense of dead American soldiers.

Our Founding Fathers repeatedly cautioned us about becoming enmeshed in foreign entanglements.

"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be under the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."
***President James Madison***

"It's the duty of the patriot to protect his country from his government."
***Thomas Paine***

The stanza, "...land of the free..." is a cruel joke. We are anything but a free people. The Patriot Act, which I foolishly supported, can apply to Girl Scouts. Our lives are controlled by our government 24/7. There is nothing we do that's not regulated by the government. Romney is a big government neocon. I could care less if Obama wins. Maybe his reelection is what this country needs in order to awaken morons who ought not be allowed to vote!

"Everything the state says is a lie, and everything it has is has stolen."
***Friedrich Nietzsche***

We were supposed to be a republic, not an empire. Our military ought to defend our borders and our borders only. As General Smedley Butler exposed many decades ago, our military as assumed Meyer Landsky's role of Murder, Inc. Our military serves two purposes: to effect globalism, which means we're no longer a sovereign nation, and to protect wealth and enrich bankers and industrialists.

Now you know why I will never again vote for another neocon, Bush 43 being the last.

Here's a insightful treatise that explicates the spawning of neocons and their agenda. I would suggest everyone interested in preserving what freedom we have left, and it ain't much, to read it. The following is a paragraph from the link that follows:

"So, what is to be done? How can America be saved from her dangerous fascination with liberty? Irving Kristol came up with the solution that has become the cornerstone of neoconservative policies: use democracy to defeat liberty. Turn the people against their own liberty. Convince them that liberty is licentiousness - that liberty undermines piety, leads to crime, drugs, rampant homosexuality, children out of wedlock, and family breakdown. And worse of all, liberalism is soft on communism or terrorism - whatever happens to be the enemy of the moment. And if you can convince the people that liberty undermines their security, then, you will not have to take away their liberty; they will gladly renounce it."

Here's the link to the alarming neocon agenda: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article6750.htm

Were you to read this treatise and understand it's dire implications, I'd suspect you won't be voting for Romney either.

More than ever, we need God to bless America once again.

Gee, I learn so much here. Me, a middle aged, well educated, well traveled, retired Naval Officer and individual who follows domestic and international news closely and is pretty damn conservative when it comes to the issues that matter, national finance, foreign policy and defense is simply owned by this vast left wing conspiracy and didn't do any research on my own and simply said oooohhhh that slick anchorman tells me this so I believe it. crazy

I said it a year ago and still believe it. Romney is the one guy that was running that did not have some horrible flaw that could be exploited by the left and a solid record of achievement in business . Of the choices he was the best one to toss this president on his ear.

Pugs,

All of your vitae is irrelevant. Facts are. What is relevant is the intent of our Founding Fathers and their patrimony. Every high school senior ought to read "The Federalist Papers" instead of state standards for American government.

If you really believe Romney and his neocon big government legacy is better than Obama, vote for him. As for me, the difference between the two buffoons does not justify my entering a voting booth.

A few months ago I attended a Ron Paul rally at UCLA. That did excite me. But, alas, he was destroyed by the liberal media.

Best of luck to you, Pugs,

Pugs,

BTW, Teddy Roosevelt was our first imperialist president. He launched us on the road of false flag foreign wars save the Mexican-American War. About his only acclaimed accomplishment was finishing the Panama canal. But considering that the French couldn't do it diminishes his accomplishment.

Hate to break this to you but Ron Paul is not going ro be President---EVER. And that is a very good thing because he would wreck this nation even quicker than BHO.

Romney is the best candidate since Reagan. I have every indication that he will be a great Conservative President.

Vote for him with gusto.

OK - I understand. My opinion, experience and analysis as an American voter don't matter to you. No problem.

I'll go back to resizing .257 Bob and prepping brass here but (ahhhh!) I'm listening to a podcast of Wait Wait Don't Tell me on NPR while I do it..... Gasp, they're in my brain I'm so easy to influence. Oooohhh look, a bright shiny object. grin

Well, cheers to you too. If Obama stays in office all the non-voters can look in a mirror as the cause as, like a truculent child, they decided not to participate since their team wasn't picked. Your choice but don't play or you can't bitch about the results and seems to be truly the role of the RP crowd.

Seriously? Name a war that happened under TR. You will note he did enable the end of the Sino-Russian war but that didn't involve a single US troop.

Didn't know that Reagan (God rest his soul) had been admitted into Sainthood. When did that happen?

Spanokopitas,

I hope you're right. But based upon what I know to be true, I think you might want to reread our founding documents, especially "The Federalist Papers".

I will never, ever vote for Romney.

Answer this obvious question for me: how was Romney, as a purported Republican, able to win election in what might be the most liberal state in the nation?

Here's another question: can you please tell me just one way our government does not control your life? Governmental control of our lives implicates a lack of freedom.

Pugs, 9 time out of 10 these guys assailing with the word "neocon" don't have a clue what it means.

Communists: I still hate them even after they changed their name to "liberals".

RobJordan,

If you read and understand the link I supplied, you will know what neocon means and its implications.

Romney is neocon personified.

I've read on the order of 10 books on TR and posting a link to a brief bio does nothing to make your case.

He served under arms in Cuba and not a policy maker there. His service certainly influenced his policies however note that his "Speak and carry a big stick" speech was entirely about being prepared and clearly ready to go to war to ensure did not have to go to war. This policy worked over his presidency.

FWIW I do think that TR under his progressive Bull Moose platform when he ran in 1912 did in fact go too far in government, especially wrt financial reform and regulation of industry. I also think that his initial good forays into some of the role of government in regulating food and drugs (for example) we correct given the issues of the day but have since warped into a bloated government role that needs reformed and reduced.

Read a bit more and get back to me and I'm happy to discuss in a rational way about what the situation was over 100 years ago and why he went the way he did.

Good post, and spot on.

Pugs,

It would not matter what I posted about TR. You're sold on him. And as most people who admire others, contradictory information does not come into play. Hell, it took me at least 20 years before I could admit to myself that Elvis was a drug addict.

Bottom line: if you think deliverance will come in the election of Romney, I wish you all the luck in the world. However, keep in mind that our nation's acceleration toward globalism was initiated under Bush 41 through the Kenyan now occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Romney will not arrest our inexorable trek toward a one-world-government.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who is thoroughly knowledgeable of the the intent of our Founding Fathers and the freedoms we no longer enjoy because sissified Americans want the gubment to take care of them.

The Fed, which is a de facto shadow government, must be disbanded. Then we must serve eviction papers on the UN. Our Founding Fathers created a sovereign nation. Why in God's name does a Third World sycophant plopped in a comfortable chair in Manhattan with luxuries footed by American taxpayers have any influence within and without America's borders? The mere fact that the UN is in Manhattan is proof that we've lost our sovereignty.

Best of luck,

R

Well, given Ron Paul is a professional politician who has served for over 24 years in federal service and he has not solved any of the problems you and he rail against I'd have to count him as a failure as a legislature.

He won't be president so I would say you're stuck on a lost cause and I'll vote for the man in the arena.

I'd say "Thanks for playing" but you've actually opted not to.

All the best.

R,

I'll still take Romney and his two eventual appointments to the Supreme Court over our current President and his choices.
