I like the FED 215. Never liked any of the CCI stuff.
I only use FED and WIN primers.

I use them all as they do make a difference. I've NEVER had a load or a rifle that CCI primers were the primer of choice for accuracy or velocity. I start load development with Federal and usually end up with them though a few have shot better with Winchester and Remington, never CCI. In pistols it's exactly the reverse where CCI is the primer of choice in most loads.

7,
I use CCI, Federal, W-W, and Remington. I have had good luck with all of them, but in very large magnum cases I will always ues the Federal 215 GMM Magnum. In the .30/378 as well as the .338/378 Weatherby, all the Ultras, and the smaller 7mm STW, 8mm Magnum, and the .358 STA. I have found the GMM primers will give you a more uniform ignition, thus better groups. In the .243, 7-08, .284, .308, .358 cases; I have found the CCI Benchrest primers to do a very nice job. The same proves true in the .30-06 family. I can say this with conviction, as I shoot a 1,200 to 2,000 rounds a month in many different rifles. My answer is buy a few boxes of each brand and test them yourself. In some rifles CCI will give you better results as well as Federal will in another. I have never had a rifle that worked better with Remington primers, but I am sure there are a few out there. I have only had three the grouped better with Winchester primers, in one of these it grouped better with Winchester brand of brass. Go figure!
Good shooting!
Marcus.

I use both, depending on availability. Lawdog

7STW,

When I tested a Savage .223 I tested several primers. The one which gave the highest velocity was CCI bench rest. The Federal came in last and the Federal match came in next to last. In fact the groups were more than twice as large with the standard Federal over the CCI.

When I started loading for the STW I started with the Federal 215 Magnum because it worked so well in my 7-.300 Weatherby. They work fine.
