Lagunitas IPA is a fine beer.. Yep, but their regular Pale is easier going while still being well hopped. That makes for a better session beer.

Very cool to see a beer thread for malty beers! Some of my favorites: Belgian trappist ales- Trappiste Rochefort 10 One of the best Belgian Quads Also Kasteelbeer Donker or Triple are great Belgians. Doppelbocks- Sam Adam's Imperial Doppelbock is good, as is the old Spaten Optimator and Ayinger's Celebrator. Rauchbiers- Schlenkerla Marzen and Urbock

+1 Schlenkerla! In my past life, I was a frequent visitor to Bamberg where I always made it a point to visit their brewery and have a few "right from the well". BTW, "Schlenkerla" in Frankonian dialect means "Staggering Man". Rauchbier ain't for everyone. Takes a bit to get used to.

Dang, the beers you guys show are more like meals in a bottle. How can you possibly drink 10 of them while filling up deer feeders?

I know, I know. I like a real beer sometimes too. But I do drink "near bear" when working outside (and filling up feeders). LOL....

I can't stand "lawnmower beer" so I don't punish myself by drinking it while working on stuff.

This thread reminds me of my favorite beer, Long Trail Ale from Bridgewater Corners, VT. You can't get it in California. It's mostly IPAs and Belgians out here, which I am not a fan of.
There are some notable exceptions to that though, like Anchorsteam, and Deschutes Brewing Black Butte Porter. That one is dee-lish. Red Trolley Ale is also really good.
Though sometimes, I just want to get drunk, and when that happens I tend to mix Budweiser and Jack Daniels.
This isn't 'Nam Donny, there are RULES...

Teal, you ever try any of these? I've only had the red bottle, but it's very good. Tried them - they're rather common around here so I've never gone back to them. Prob should one of these days.

You can always water one of these beers down with about 20 gallons of seltzer water. Then it tastes just like Coors. For that matter, you can probably skip adding the European beer. Just substitute the seltzer water for Coors. They taste the same.

Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.
