I have the new VX2 (6-18X) and a Minox ZA5 (5-20X) on varmint rifles. Comparing them at max power, the VX2 actually has a tad better resolution, and it is definitely brighter in low light, despite the smaller 40mm objective lens. Of course, in my case, the Leupold has AO vs. the Minox's side-focus, but the former's price is almost 30% less in these models. I've never been too impressed with Leupold glass, but this VX2 (not to be confused with the VXII) is a whole new animal, and now makes it OK to use "Leupold" and "bargain" in the same sentence.
