Uff-dah!

I hope I never have to do the flood clean up thing again. It's not pretty.

The Campfire again proved how great of a place it is with gophergunner and Miles58 driving up from the Twin Cities to Duluth, to help my parents out...and they needed it.

The house is livable with the basement being cleaner than it has been since they moved there according to my step mom.

3 of 4 garages were packed FULL of muddy, silty, river bottom stuff that we got cleaned out and dumped as well. Each garage took a group of folks all day to clean out. Between the muck and the tools and car parts in each one, it was a mess.

I can't express how much I appreciate the help and well wishes from everyone on the fire.

Return to your regularly scheduled goofyness.

Tom

We had a very productive day up at Tom's dad's place yesterday. There were plenty of strong backs and willing hearts available. We shoveled mud all day. I was impressed by the efforts of the ladies shoveling out one of the garages. They got a LOT done before the guys showed up to help! Those are some strong willed ladies, Tom.

I'm sure Tom and his folks appreciated all the help you guys provided. Bet you sweated off a few pounds if it was as warm there as was it was here this weekend.

Already 94* here today.

My 10 year old TV took a dump Saturday so the wife and I had to go shopping for a replacement. Ended up buying a 37" HD set from Wally World. Went out to our cable provider this morning and picked up a HD receiver. What a great picture.

Just a note, you can "float" down on your interest rate on your house by refinancing and having the lender pay the closing costs....and NOT have them add it to your loan but rather, they charge you a little higher interest rate. For example, I could get a 3.375% if I pay closing costs, or a 3.625% and they pay closing costs. I chose the latter today. Just thought I would throw that out there in case you havent refinanced lately. Those were actual rates as of 20 minutes ago. I was at 4%. So it doesnt have to be a huge drop to make sense to do it.

What you do today is important, you are trading a day in the rest of your life for it.
