I have heard that Ford is going to drop the 6.0 diesel due to excessive problems.
Does anyone know when they will introduce the new engine and what it will be ??
Thanks, Pat

2007 year model. It's supposed to be a 6.4 liter roughly based upon the 6.0. www.thedieselstop.comLots of info there.

close - the 6.4 is replacing the 6.0 for emissions reasons. The 6.4 will have 2 EGR valves, 2 EGR coolers and other emissions related baggage. The twin turbos are not for performance they are for emissions. It will be sequential turbos with dual intercoolers. Nothing KISS about it - should be a real nightmare all in the name of emissions. The cost of the emissions equipment is estimated to raise the cost of a diesel truck $7-10 thousand dollars.
Thank you EPA. Meanwhile the 7.3 is available in the 2006 F-series in Australia.

in your fuel by fall of 2006. Right now diesel has 500 parts per million of sulphur it will be 15 parts per million in the fall. Sulphur is needed to lubricate the fuel system, but it is what the greenies see as soot and so thats what there after. At least there are additives that help to boost cetane and lube the fuel system.I hope we see more diesels, perhaps these changes will appease the greenies a bit.Time will tell. TTFN Matt
