My son and I have antelope tags for Wyoming in October and I'm wondering what the process is for taking a rifle. Any info would be appreciated.

I would check the US Customs website, or give them a call. I'm sure others will give some help.

Good advice, Richard, and you may want to check with Canada Customs to see if you need to import it back on your return. Always go prepared.

Download form N61A from the BATF website, fill it in in duplicate and include a copy of your Wyoming licence.Fax it to the number in the instructions and provide a return fax #.Do it right away it can take up to 8 weeks.Stop at Canada Customs first and get the card that you fill in that shows that items you are taking to the States were purchased in Canada(cameras, rifles and other high end items)Make sure you have your PAL when you come back through Canada Customs and show them the card,Good luck on your hunt,I didn't get my Wyoming draw this year.Cheers,Monashee

Oh for the olden days. We took them across the border and only worried about having a green card to bring them back.

I got the licences in the mail so Im ready to fill out the 5330.3D(6N1A), but the form asks for a registration #. With our registry dead I wonder if I have to fill this in? I'll have to contact the BATF and find out.

That seems fast. What steps did you go through, and when?

Make sure you take your BC Hunter's Safety Card with you, they're sticklers in WY for that.
If you can,fax them the application/license,faster than mail.
