The owner come out to talk to me after I took the pictues. He said it was a 56 Holiday.

Here's a bit of auto history some of you aren't aware of: "56" was the first year that Olds put the "Park" position in their auto transmission. Up till than the shift patern was "N, D, L, R". Than in 56 it went to "P,N,D,L,R". Bet you'll all sleep better know. smile

Did it start in gear or did you have to put it in "N"?

The interior is nice. The old cars sure had some classy interiors. Stuff that would be very expensive to duplicate or put in cars of today.

My dad has had the ins. adjuster out to his place a few times to look at his car, which has what I'd call a normal looking interior for cars of that era, and it's going to be $6K for just that. eek

Them dang new fangled column shift auto transmissions.

I know about an old guy back in the day, got his first column shifted automatic transmission. Previously he had the manual trans, clutch pedal, brake pedal, column shifter 3 speed.

You get used to what you have.

Some yuns know what I mean. grin

It was said that old Joe could be seen proceeding from the stop sign next to the Ulen Bank only to make it barley across the street, picking up speed... then he'd smash the brake pedal and slam the car into park.

grin

Shifting into second... or so he thought! LOL!! grin
