Hey fellas, I picked up an 870 Super Mag. Gun has the rib barrel with a mid bead and a muzzle bead. Problem is that it's consistently patterning low and right. At 40yds its hitting 1' low and tad right. I tried a few different chokes to make sure it wasn't me. Got an Indian Creek .665 and its amazing to say the least. Alright, back to my troubles.... Thinking bout some type of adjustable fiber optics. What say ye?
Thanks-

I put some Williams "Slugger" Fire Sights on a BPS this past spring and like them a lot.

I have used the Burris speed bead and aimpoint micro on shotguns successfully. Have been frustrated by the after market sights that clamp on the vent rib before but it has been a few years so maybe there is a better solution out there
With an 870 you should also have the option of buying a barrel with rifle sights and replacing them with an xs ghost ring set up if you are willing to dedicate the barrel to non upland work

Williams slugger or the tru glo gobble dot. Both are metal easily adjustable and do just what you want.
I have used the sluggers for 6-8 years on 4 different shotguns amd never had to do a thing affer they was set.
Thia year i had one come a little loose, a small turn with the allen wrench and all was well.

I've used a couple of different fiber optic sights and love them. IMO they are the perfect sight for turkey hunting; light, inexpensive and they offer a reminder to keep your head down. Even with a tight turkey choke you're still shooting a shotgun, you don't need 1/4 min of angle accuracy.

The standard for POI patterning with a shotgun is 16yards.
The center of the pattern-top to bottom-of one inch low at 40 with a shotgun is no big deal. If it is still a little right at 16yards shave "A LITTLE" off the stock on the left side where it meats the receiver and that will move your pattern left. Pattern again and shave "A LITTLE" more if needed.
However, I'd check things out at 16 to 20 yards before I did any filing.
Addition: 1/16inch of stock change-up/down or right/left-at 16yards equates to moving the pattern center 1inch at 16yards

Its hitting a foot low, not an inch low. New fiber optics are on the way. Anybody else using the Indian Creek tubes? That choke is the shizzle! I positive a fella could kill a bumble bee at 50-60 yards

My reading error.
Just me, but with a foot low at 40 yards I would either get another barrel, bend it or dump the whole gun and start over.

I bought a set of tru-glo fiber optics and use the ghost sight..no issues and they seem like good sights. Have also read good reviews on the williams sights.
Don't go magnetic, spend the money and buy a set that can take some hits.

IC chokes are all I use in my turkey guns.

I am probably the odd man out on this but I used a regular 870 for about forty years with just the bead front sight and the bead rib sight. I use an extra full rem choke tube. Never saw the need for any kind of sighting sytem.
