Base is mesquite and the panels in the drawers I had left blank inserts when it was built. I took them out and used 2 pieces of blesbok back hide to cover them .
Turned out pretty good .

The mesquite matches the bar .

Cool mount!

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Fantastic photo and real nice W-hog. Having never been to Africa, how do they cook up? Do they taste like pork?

Chicken, they taste like chicken. smile

The big old boars have tough meat and we drive over the back straps with a tractor about five times. Then we marinade it in lemon juice for a couple days, put it on the grid and use it as staff rations the following day.

I usually have someone shoot us a young porker that goes on a spit braai. Now that's some good eating right there but I cannot pinpoint the taste to pork alone. Somewhere between pork, chicken and beef. Really good though.
