I keep hearing so much about these Tikkas. Will they out shoot the rem's rugers and brownings? with reliability issues aside! just shot groups counting.

I unfortunately don't have any photos of groups to post, only my word. I have a Tikka Whitetail Hunter in 7mm-08 and this rifle flat will shoot, anything I feed it. Firing from a bench if I do my part, the holes normally touch or cut each other. It wears a Doctor Optic 3X9X40 and has taken 2 deer at slightly more than 200 yds. Head shot @ 203 yds from solid fixed rest, and shoulder shot @ 226 yds from portable rest. Various others from 30 to 75 yds. . I've owned the rifle for about 5 years and never had a problem with it.

I have a Tikka Continental in 22-250 which will put 5 shots right at about an inch assuming I don't fart or sneeze when I'm squeezing one off. This is with just plain jane Win white box 40 gr ammo. Giving consideration to selling it, considering my AI'ed version in Weatherby Varmintmaster will do even better with the same ammo during fireforming. BUT the difference between the two could be that the Roy has a 15 oz. trigger and the Tikka has a 3# trigger.

I have bought 3 t-3's, and they shoot very well. Put it this way, my remys are gone, all that remain are 3 tikkas and 2 sakos as far as rifles go.

Avagadro, I have the same rifle in the same chambering, and my results are the same with the same ammo. Handloads of 39.5 gr H380 and 55 gr Rem PSP yield groups around 5/8", and the same charge under 55 gr Nosler BT groups around 3/8". They are an awesome shooting rifle..........!!!

Tom, I figured the rifle would be good for sub inch handloads, but .375" ... WOW!! Did you bed your action or adjust the trigger down to 2 pounds? I shot a Sako (owned by a member here at the campfire) in a similar configuration (but his has a McM stock) and it shot right at .380" with his handloads ... best group I've ever shot! Be nice if this Tikka could shoot like that too But what would a man do with two super-accurate 22-250's?

dgc, here's what I did with my 2 T-3's.......7-08 stainless/synthetic with Zeiss Conquest--Bought a box of Remington core-lokt's at Academy, went to range, sighted it in, and shot .4" 3 shot groups. Got my 7 mag with Zeiss Conquest and did the same thing with Hornady Heavy Mags into .7 groups. I used the rings that came with it, and haven't touched the trigger at all (is set at about 2.5 lbs from factory). Moral to the story....mine will shoot as advertised with no tinkering, with factory ammo.

I have the same rifle as tp4whlr, in a lefty. It isn't a tackriver, but it will group about one MOA with just about anything I feed it. It might do better with the right load, or maybe a better shooter behind the butt. BTW, tp4whlr, the HS kids around here throw toilet paper into the trees before football games. Does your handle mean that you ride around in a four-wheeler doing the same thing?

Just got a T-3 Lite blued in 223 for a coyote wacker,I have only put about 15 through it so far of the 45gr Win HP white boxes, the last 3,3 shot groups where right about 1",need to get a set of dies to make my own.My rifle has the 1 in 8" twist, anybody have any experience on what weight works the best with that twist,I was hoping that 50gr Btips would work well. What about scope mounts? The ones that came with it are a whisker high, anybody making nice low rings for the T3? I put Burris mounts and rings on my T3 and they work fine. You could go with low mounts or even super low if you have the clearance. The thing you give up with aftermarket rings is the light weight of the supplied mounts. Maybe somebody makes light weight aftermarkets for the T3 now, but when I bought mine (2.5 years ato) Burris was the only one making mounts for the T3. I bet there are lots now.

BTW: ditto on all the accolades for the accuracy of the Tikka's! Mine's a keeper and I've heard of few that aren't!

I have 3 T3s and 2 whitetail hunters and they all shoot very well. However I did have a Whitetail Hunter in 7mm Mag that I could just not get to shoot properly and I sold it (maybe the nut behind the butt but I put an aweful amount of effort into it)

I have just bought one in 9.3x62 and its early days but it groups just under 1.5" with Privy Partizan factory ammo.

I am very happy with my T3s. I do however think that the previous model (whitetail hunter) is a slightly better rifle than the T3 - both in the stock & action.

I am busting to go hunting in New Zealand with my 300WSM -its a great rifle & caliber

DCG,

I've shot 5 (on different days to boot) single hole groups (4 shots per hole) with my T3 lite 243.

I rank this rifle up there with a Remy 788 I once had.

Now you got it, it is the 788 of the day.

Cost effective and accurate beyond belief. If other guns company's were smart they would be burning it up trying to get into the game.

I have read a lot about people griping about not liking them because of plastic parts! You know Ive become accustom to plastic as we now live in a world of plastic. you know a lot of people don't know the difference between plastic and polymer these are the same ones that hate glocks and I know they are a good pistol I also stepped out and bought a benelli shotgun several years ago it has a lot of this so called plastic and it just shoots and shoots and shoots strait! I wonder what these plastic haters do when they want a new car or truck?
