My 760 in 308 wears a Burris 4x Short Mag with a duplex reticle. Sits on a Weaver base with Burris Signature Low rings. Nice setup for both eyes open shooting. I'm pretty fond of this combo for general woods cruising and keeping handy to the back door.

I have a Weaver one piece base on my 760 .308 and weaver rings and a 3-9x40 scope. Have had that setup since I was 11, I am 30 now. No need to change what works in my mind.
That being said if you get a Luepy like you planned, I bet it would work very well in a set of good rings on that one piece Weaver base.

My best friend used a Remington 7600 in .270 scoped with a Redfield scope as his first deer rifle. That was 1976, and he killed a semi-rig full of whitetails before he switched rifles.
