79.5GR RE-15 @3030FPS MV in CZ550 375H&H Very slight sticky bolt lift, might want to reduce load by .5gr. Hits like the hammer of Thor. Sub MOA groups in my rifle.

About a grain and half too much IMHO...drop to 78 for about 2940 or so.

All the benefit and nothing strained. Case life good. Still hits hard.

Good luck! smile wink

Fotis I have never posted this for obvious reasons but since the cat is outta the bag smile I have seen the OP's velocities and have gotten them in pair of barrels with similar charges of 4064....BUT.....but barrels were pre 64 M70's and both were slugged (miked)at .378 groove diameter,or about 3-thou oversized.

Accuracy was excellent and case life good, and without the sticky bolt lift routine, indicating excessive expansion near the belt(?).

However, another pair of barrels(a 24" Atkinson and a 24" 410 SS Krieger)with more normal dimensions would pretty clearly not take those charges nor deliver that velocity. In the Krieger,I run 77 gr R15 with the 250 Sierra at a hair under 2900;and 78 gr with 250 Bitterroot for 2940,measured several times since the 80's. It always comes out the same.I would expect that is about "max" from most standard production tubes and standard dimensions.I have not tried the Barnes 250.
