UV light and clothing has been discussed on the Deer topic, but I got a black light to check my clothes. I moved the light across my arrows and saw what I see as a UV bright fletching. The imitation barred feathers showed a bright UV as well as the plastic vanes. I had some river cane shafts with natural turkey feathers beside the imitation feathers and they showed no UV at all. Also dyed feathers did not show any UV. Not sure what it proves, but thought I would put it on here to view. Hope the pictures down load.
There are no bad days hunting elk, some are just better.
Lighted nocks are cool, but I believe they turn on when shot. Just the same, if all your clothes and gear was non UV reflecting and you had 6 arrows in your quiver, that would make a large illuminated area. Then start moving it around and it would look like the tail of a deer flipping around, to a deer. I would not be too concerned with just the nocks, but feathers and vanes make up a big area. I know I will not be putting any UV reflective feathers or vanes on my arrows when other options are available.
