Try this 24HR forum at:

http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/forums/53/1/Competitive_Shooting

The site Boardreader.com will find sites.

Also try something like this on a browser:

"High power rifle competition forum"

http://www.nationalmatch.us/ is about the best for conventional High Power. (200-300-600, standing sitting prone, slow rapid)

http://www.long-range.com/
for prone medium to long range (500 to 1000 yds)

they might also cover F-class

you need to register before you can even look at it.

The nationalmatch.us forum is probably the most active with credible and high level shooters for "cross the course" shooting, while it's sister site long-range.com is it's counterpart for prone and f-class mid and long range. Both require registration.

Of course you could always ask your questions here. There are a few High Masters, Distinguished Riflemen, and F-class shooters that frequent this board. wink

a few of us here know a thing or two if you want to ask, but IMHO, the boards mentioned will also get you a larger variety of answers/info if thats important.

If you have questions don't hesistate to ask here, especially if in regard to service rifle, I might know a thing or two.

Weren't there some rule changes made recently with service rifle handguards? Possibly sights too?

NRA allows the quad rail on the M110 (7.62 AR) with or without plastic covers, but not on the A2. A2's must have standard handguard config. Under the hand guard tubes are allowed. Both NRA and CMP in the last couple of years have allowed the micro sight and the rectangular aperture in the rear.

The A-2 configuration is what I'm looking in to. I knew about the floating tube allowed under the handguards, the micro sight, and removable carry handle. What are you refering to when you say rectangular rear aperture?

There's a design of apertures that use a rectangular hole instead of a round one. They were approved by the CMP (and by extension the NRA) for use in Service Rifles at about the same time that the MicroSight was approved.

Here's the NRA Rulebook for you to read up to your hearts content.

I'd heard that was what the trapdoor shooters said when the Krag was adopted! laugh

I straddle both era's and enjoy them both.

my reply is always...why don't you still ride a horse to work and shoot a brown bess.

Those that can't keep up with the times are destined to loose. And thats what happened to the M1A shooters. I know. BTDT and decided to swap so I could win...
