Depends on the circumstances
Where I am and what is happening
And, what gun or guns that I happen to have at that time,
but, there is nothing that will get your attention any quicker, than the 'chik-chik' of a pump shotgun!

1911 Colt 30-40 Carbine, minty and very accurate M97 Winchester
I have 30 others to choose from, but these get 1st attention.
The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first.

With reason to believe a man might intend to bring harm to my family. I spent the night in a chair with line of sight to both the front and back doors.
In my lap was a Ruger 7.5 in SBH in 41 mag loaded with Hornady XTP's at 1400 fps. Leaning against the wall behind me was a Marlin 1894 which held ten rounds of same. And leaning against my chair was a Mossberg 500 12 ga with six rounds of #6.
Does that answer the question?

My new Remington 7600 30-06 with an aim point sight. While its not as accurate as my Blaser R-93 its plenty accurate for about 99% of the shooting I do. And it makes for a good home defense arm in need be. Thou Its more of a good deer getter here in the North East. I suspect that my neighbors Marlin 336 in 30-30 would work just as well as a go do rifle it you need to split and just take what you can carry.

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

My carbine AR, 1911 (getting glock 19 to replace), and my AK. No need for a shotgun when you have a carbine, though my 870 works fine.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
