What is wrong with these people? Have an 11:00am appointment for witch I am 15 minutes early and can't get seen. By 1:00 I'm am getting upset and ask the secretary why so long and all I get is a blank look in return. NO ANSWER! Go sit down and wait some more and at 2:05 go up there again. Not gonna take the same answer. Come to find out he has not even shown up yet. They don't know when, just wait.
Now if he was a surgeon and there was some emergency I could accept that, but he isn't. Started shaking from missing lunch and had to leave. Need to find a new doc now. Is it arrogance om his part or just me?

Here's about the dumbest thing you will hear on this  : I did that once...just once. I waited for an hour or so and left. They called me at home and I told them not to reschedule because I wasn't going to waste my time waiting for nothing, and that I'd find another doctor! The very proper gal said, "Oh My!", then told me she didn't think the Doctor could see me anytime and we hung up. I found out later (check and re-check your calendar)I had the apointment time wrong and I'd shown up an hour early.  It's hell getting old, but I still think the receptionist should have told me I was an hour early when I checked in with her.

Unless they've had an emergency i.e. some in the exam room had a heart attack etc. no more than a half hour after your appointment time you walk to the receptionist desk and cancel your appointment.
oh did I fail to mention you find a new doctor.

I have waited many, many times 2, 2-1/2 hours
these guys get tied up on surgeries and blow the whole schedule
I was somewhat forgiving to the cardiologist because of that.
......
However, I did have a general practitioner that was awful. You would schedule a 7;45am appt and get there and there be 10 other m'fkers with a 8am appt too. Be 10am before you got seen.

Back in my college routing days there was an all-girls college here in town and I was lucky enough to have a pard that dated one of them  I wont get particular but one night I stuck the corner of the nightstand through my skull and starting bleeding like a stuck pig. Bunch of the girls brought me to the ER and I kid you not I sat there for 3 hours with a few towels and paper towels packed on my head with blood everywhere. ( the towels were being used at the time of "immediate care" for me in the dorm bathroom ). They took x-rays and stitched me up. Had a harem escort me back to the dorm. It was awful Those were the most wonderful 3 hours I can remember.... Oh wait. This was a rant post.... Sorry!! W

If I have an appointment, I will wait no longer than 15 minutes before I ask what is up? If I wait 30 minutes, I leave. Surgeries, emergencies, etc should be communicated when you arrive and check in or even before if possible.
Our doctor kept me waiting for over an hour one time. I left and they billed me for the office visit anyway. I sent the doctor a bill for the time at the rate my company bills my time at ($300 per hour). He told me to stuff it because "I am a doctor and my time is valuable". Waited 30 days and took him to small claims court. The judge informed him that his thinking was flawed just before he ruled for me.
We live in a small town and word spreads fast. I have not waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen since...
