I have it bad for a knife that I want, but the maker I was referred to is not responding or otherwise not answering emails, phone calls, etc. Any takers that I could work with to make one very similar to the knife below? Hand forged blade, about 3 1/2" cutting surface, full-size grip (the one in the picture is 4" if I remember correctly. The grip shown is black micarta.
If it has whipped cream and chocolate drizzles on it, it’s dessert. Grow up and get a coffee damnit

Pretty basic knife. I am sure anyone of the host knifemakers on here could do it. What steel you looking for?

I beleive most of the guys on here are stock removal guys but I do recall a few that have done some forging as well.

I had to go back and look... The steel is 5160, flat ground, 3" cutting surface with a 3/4" choir. I thought the handle was micarta, but the one pictured is buffalo horn...
I am open to suggestions... I saw this about three years ago and have the itch ever since...

bruce culberson of b.c. could probably make you a fine knife--he forges & stock removal. my 2 52100 forged in bodark & cocobolo are increadible. he does'nt hang in this particular forum much but you can p.m. me for his info. expect at least a 10 month wait.---cranky72

If you wish to stay with 5160 you should get hold of Lin Rhea. He and Terry Primos (sadly retired from bladesmithing) have made my favorites in that steel.
