I'd go 7mm-08 as well especially if you hand load. Load up 35gr H4895 and a 120 gr BT or prohunter for a soft shooting 200 yard deer load. You can also step up to a full power 140gr partition or 120gr ttsx and kill most anything out there without to much recoil as well.

The .260 may be a good one to check out.

Has anyone had any experience with the rem 770? Or the Rossi youth model she's smaller framed and doesn't like the feel of some of my bigger guns

If she is smaller framed and doesnt like the feel of bigger guns, a Remington Model 7 should be perfect for her. Either with a youth or full size stock. Id go 243 or 7mm-08

With some of these "cheap" guns, the trigger may leave a lot to be desired. It's hard to shoot well with a sorry trigger. Don't give her something like that.

Marlin 93 or 336 in any caliber you find convenient. Hard to beat a .30-30.
Or a Winchester or Browning singleshot in anything from .243 to whatever.
The levers are lighter than the singles by a good bit, but if she will be stand hunting the heavier singleshots would be ideal. My guess, is that she will be stand hunting in the Carolinas.

I have 3 levers a Rossi rip grande .30-30 Rossi 92 .45 colt and a marlin .44 she doesn't like the feel of any of them and my heavy barrel H&R .45-70 is much to big she will be stand hunting and I think I'm gonna end up getting a single shot rifle to start out with to make sure she understands she only needs one shot I'd love to get her a Ruger #1 but thats a little more money than I want to spend for her to try out deer hunting I geuss u could say

Get her a rifle she likes, that fits her, and is of a quality level you'd be happy to use.

My 8 year old son kills deer fine with a NEF Youth Handi Rifle in 223 Remington. The rifle has a 1-9" twist and shoots the 60 gr Partition, 64 gr Power Point and 62 gr TSX into an inch or so. If it works for a kid it will work for an adult...
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I'll add a +1 for the 7mm-08 in a Seven or 700. Y' might improve on it some way in specific situations but for all around goin' out and turning live deer into dead deer, it doesn't get any better than that.

Savage Lightweight Hunter in .260 Rem or 7mm-08 Rem would do nicely.
