Mossback if you are patient I will get in touch with my buddy. He builds match grade .17cal bullets and is quite the .17cal guru. I will see what he can come up with for you.. T in north Idaho

O.K. sorry I took so long to get back to you. I spoke to Mr. Nagel of Nagel bullets. He was sorry but had no load data for RL 10x. He suggested to try the Saubier blog site. Someone on that site will probably be able to help you. If you are interested in some really high performance bullets for your rifle I will put you in touch with Chan...........T. in N. ID

Mossback,
I'm not sure that you'll get back to read this but I'll post it anyway just in case.
Reloader 10X is really too fast to use in this case/bullet combination. Small changes in load weight with the .17's can result in catastrophic events. The maximum load for this combination is only about an 80% case fill and that leaves way too much space with a powder that's too fast
You need to look at slower powders such as V V N-150, Reloader 15, AA-2520, Ramshot Big Game. The Maximum load for all of these powders is about 22 grains in my rifles. The V V N-150 is slightly more. However, you should know the Reloaders Mantra:
Start low and work up slowly watching for signs of pressure.
Regards.

Mossback, I would think there is a load in there for 10X for the 30gr but I can't tell you where to start since I haven't worked with 10X. My Lyman book has recomended loads for the 25gr {they don't know there are 15gr 18gr 22gr 20gr 25gr 30gr and 37gr and most likely many more.] using Reloader #7. IMR 4198 and others that are faster than 10X. I like 4895.

Nononsense has a good point. Since RL-10X is not in the loading manuals in my bookcase, and neither are the 30 gr bullets, you are in several levels of unknowns. Might help to email the Alliant folks or visit their website and go to reloading links. Hodgdon and Alliant have both been very helpful when I have asked a few questions. RL-10X has not been useful for me with 25's or 20's, seems a bit fastburning. I have some ready for trials in my 17 Ackley Hornet, though, and prairie dogs are only 5 months, two weeks and 4 days away. Shoot smart. Ask more questions and question the answers. Border Doc
