NWA, the roads were built by the people who work and pay the taxes, and the law, and for the welfare you receive. But, as most libs do, you thank uncle Zero.

The farm roads in Texas are better than the federal highways in Missouri. You really are a maroon.

Maybe so but the entire state of NM doesn't have economic capability of Claude. (wink)

Pretty sure Midland could buy the whole State of NM.

And if memory serves me right...the state habitually votes the Democratic ticket!!

Lots of folks there love the gov't 'handouts'!!

Since there is no such thing as a free lunch, it makes sense that whenever any part of the country gets a government windfall or crazy earmark, somebody somewhere else isn't getting their share.

When I was a kid I heard my dad say, "Just thank God we don't get all the government we're paying for".

Now I know what he meant.

We lived in Midland for two years, youngest son being born there, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. In fact we really did not want to leave when we did but work prevailed. Great people no question and while we left 14 years ago we still see friends from there and likely will see some on LBJ over the holiday weekend. Wonder if "Between the Walls" is still open?

where you run into a bunch of dumbass democrats?

Only bad thing about West Texas, unfortunately our quality votes out there don't count as often as a dead liberal from Chicago's votes.
How come all the dead folks in Illinois vote Dem? It don't make no sense. smirk

Last time I was there, Jim Walls was still open for business. Great little Gun Store & a super nice guy. We jokingly call the place "Between the Cheeks" He always has the really nice high end stuff.

I have no problem with the government building roads, sewers, fresh water plants, schools, and public safety, what I do have trouble with is the 80% spent on crap that will never give any return.

Gosh...I think the government did. Without that government and all that they do to guarantee services make it to those dusty Texas towns, well they would still be waiting for the railroad to come to town.

Up here in the Big State of ALaska nothing happens without state and federal money. Hell we have a road in Kotzebue called the Ted Stevens parkway that goes nowhere and costs a shi$ load to build back in 1999. Our good Republican senator provided that pork along with Trillions of dollars worth of other such projects all across this state. Thanks Uncle Ted! In Alaska we love the GOP and the Pork they dump into our laps.

Ya got to love Earmarks! Without the feds you could not flush a toilet in Alaska or get from one side of Texas to the other.

Little minds like sound bites!

And where do you think the money came from to build the roads and bridges to attract more business?? TAXPAYERS.

Who paid the taxes that built the infrastructure?
