Where can I get 25 to 50 of them??
I can seem to only find lab supply companies that want to sell me a 1000 at a time.
I would really like to be able to have some screw-cap, free standing, plastic ones. Be great if they would slide down into a 25count 'shotshell' case and take em to the range for my Savage 10ML II.
Anyone??
Thanks

Get ya some old film canisters, they will fit a synthetic shell belt and are waterproof.

real men shoot black powder and use a hollowed out antler tip for a powder measure.
My idea of being organic is taking a dump in the woods.

Gunner Gunner, I've tried several ideas in place of the vials I went last year to walmart to the camping section... bought those "waterproof matches" in the little orange cylinder- it has an o-ring I just tossed the matches in the trash and used those tubes, they were bright orange to boot they are meh....'ok' for hunting but I'm looking for a big set for some extensive range testing. It's a bitch toting your scale to the range.

your better quality cigar shops sell plastic slip top cigar tubes for under $2 each, I bought a couple dozen, they easily hold my standard 58 caliber loads of a well greased maxi ball a cotton cosmetic ball as a separator, in the tube and patch and a charge of propellant, you can place a second cotton ball under the cap with a couple percussion caps. carry the tubes in a belt loop or pocket and they are highly water resistant

Extreme care must be adhered to if ML powder, ( might be only BP) is placed in plastic tubes other than those designed for such. One of the cardinal rules when ML fad came about in the 70's was not to put loads in plastic tubes. Static electrical sparks could ignite the powder, and several guys had the tubes go off in thier pockets.
Quit being cheap,by the Quickload devices sold for that purpose.

The 5ml vials from http://www.royalcs.com/vials/ is what I use. They fit perfectly in the 25 round 12 gauge 3" shotshell carriers. After using each vial you can flip them over with the lid on to know which ones are empty.

When you get the tubes, wipe the inside with a piece of fabric softener, it will eliminate the static elec. and the powder won't cling to the plastic. The ones from Lanes powder tubes are excellent. Also, at WallyWorld, you can get ice cube trays that make round cylindrical ice cubes that are perfect for the vials. Holds about 30 of those rascals.

" not to put loads in plastic tubes. Static electrical sparks could ignite the powder, and several guys had the tubes go off in thier pockets." I wonder about those reports concerning static electricity. Repeated experiments using static sparklers have not shown that BP can be ignited by static sparks.....there is just not enough heat. See this link as an example - one of a few: http://www.ctmuzzleloaders.com/ctml_experiments/sparks/sparks.html

Good point, Pete.
Another rather ironic observation,.....BP is PACKAGED, SHIPPED, and SOLD in Plastic containers.
so,.......what's up with that ?

Granted, they would have to be.
That STILL leaves the numerous (and VERY comprehensive) tests that have been run and published for many years, where folks TRY to get static (and other forms) of spark to launch some BP, and can't.
Sure leaves one a bit perplexed, don't it ?
