Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular gun; good, bad, or otherwise. Have a line on one that I am looking at getting for my kids to use and am wondering if it is a good choice. This one does come with swivel studs and two chokes for $200.

Is that the pump or the auto. model ? I've had both the 870 youth and the 1100 youth, for the wife and kids, both were chambered for 23/4 & 3''. They've both worked flawlessly. I doubt that you'ld go wrong with a Remington for that price.

I know at least half a dozen people who own and use Remington 870 express shotguns. For a few of these, it's their only shotgun. Except for one instance involving customer service at a large chain store (you know the one...), they have functioned flawlessly. Based on what I've seen, they are the best buy out there for an entry level, or even a full time working only-one-you've-got shotgun.

I got one for my boy, not pretty but tough and has never failed to perform. What you see is what you get and what you get is worth the money.

I have a couple of 870's myself so I know what you guys are saying about reliability, just didn't know alot about the 20 ga. in the Express or if it had any known problems.

Ended up getting the gun but I haven't given it to him yet as his birthday is in March.
