Anyone ever used the Limmer brand boots? What do you think of them, if you did.

WOW. Wouldn't have expected that of totally custom boots at $700 a pair, but will definitely check that forum out.

They make some non-custom ones. I had a pair that I bought on eBay. They never really fit me so I sold them. They were amazingly well made but ran narrow on my fat feet. They are very stiff and take a lot to break in. If I ever get to a store that carries them and I can get a pair that fit, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

I did some research and found they had non-customs also. Don't know where they're sold or who through. Ran several searchs on them and seem to be pretty well liked. Looked at the Whiteblaze forum and couldn't find anything on them, but like all other forums (here for instance) a ton of places to look.. thanks for the idea on e-bay, may look there and see if any posted. I take a WIde width. Have a pair of Floresheims that are 4Es and still to narrow.

I'm starting my 5th season with Limmer Lightweights. They're tough boots! I spend a lot of time chukar hunting every year and need a tough boot. I have to be pushing a 1,000 or more miles on mine by now. The soles are stitched on. I plan to have mine resoled in the next year or so. I'll take some pictures and send them to Peter Limmer for advice on timing.

Being built with thick leather, I takes a long time to break them in. Much longer than composite glued sole boots.

I know a few people who use them and haven't heard any complaints besides the length of time to break-in and the length of time for custom orders (2 year wait list?).

If you want a pair, call Peter Limmer at their store in NH. They'll send you paperwork to sketch your foot and then recommend a size.
