If you'd have bought it today, ya could've had it up and running tomorrow and be grinnin' like a possum by the weekend.

As another said right off the bat, quarter bores RULE!

I'd not hesitate to do that, and I LOVE 30-06s!

I bet you could find a take-off in the classifieds here?

Hard to beat a 25-06 as combo deer/coyote rifle. I like the idea of running 100s for both.

Working well here since about 1980, although I use 'em fer deer and more distant woodchucks. ;O)

I have a .25-06. I use 115 gr. partitions for deer and 90 gr. hollow points for coyotes (I don't shoot them for the pelts). The .30-06. is also great for your stated use. Go with the .25 and you have two terrific calibers.

So Im thinking that this is a good time to pick up a 25-06 to slap in it.

I can go two routes here, slap the Mickey on the 30-06 and hunt it or go 25-06....what say the campfire?

Hard to justify the 25-06 when fast twist 243's exist.

Don't justify it, life is short. Buy one and have fun.

Does any manufacturer offer a fast twist 243 as is. Or is it a re-barrel proposition?
