A tag for the firearms season came in the mail today! I had missed the main draw and got this one through the "random daily drawing". Hunting in the south east (white Co.), what a difference 3 hours drive and a different managment program makes for deer hunting compared to where I live... Good luck to those drawn, I just hope Ebby doesn't end up there.

Got my Pike Co. tags from the first draw back in July. Also hoping for a better season than 2011. We hunt public land and the bow hunters had been in the area hard for 45 days before gun season. I talked to about five of them when I scouted the week prior. They were all disappointed and complaining about the number of hunters in the woods. Not one of them was from Illinois.

FYI ... here's the ILDFW map of EHD cases reported this year. White Co. appears OK ... note all the cases in Cook Co. (Chicago and suburbs). That place is toxic in so many ways!

You'll probably drive through my town on your way. Personally "shotgun" hunting in Saline, possibly ML hunting in Hamilton. Depends if the trail cams catch anything decent.
