looking for a .224 bullet for coyotes, paper, and groundhogs. need something less than $20 a box and accurate and with good performance.
haven't shot a centerfire .22 in a while- usually use .243.

Do those hold together well enough for the occasional pronghorn or Southern white tail?

Both of the bullets mentioned are excellent in my .22's..Have killed much game and varmit with both the 55 gr. Horn. and 63 grain Serria..BUT my new favorite is the 50 grain Blitzking or Vamx..both shoot super in all my rifles from the .222 thru the Swift and .22-250 Ackley Imp..I believe I have shot some deer with these bullets in states where it is legal..I know I have used the 55 grain Horn. and 63 grain Serria on a bunch of deer..The 55 grain Horn. could be bought very cheaply a few years ago in bulk..I think there is still a thousand or so kick around the loading room.

Last option, and it is a fine hog/deer bullet too.
60gr Hornady SP.

Travis Stick a fork in it this thread is done! Dober I'm gonna go stick something with one of them this fall...just cause Ive never done it before, and have heard from reliable sources ( Dober, Scenarshooter) that it works. My first non-premium .22 bullet kill in a long time...

I like Varget....and I see that you use it as seasoning on cereal. I might try it too...the load, not for a food additive!

I'll bite. What load are you guys using with the Hornady 55? 26.5gr's of TAC gives me 3,100fps out of a 16" tube. It's a little warm. Travis
