S U P E R nice. Never saw anything CLOSE to that on a Ruger.

It would be F A N T A S T I C to have a stock OR rifle that once belonged to JOC.

Congrats.

BTW - I'd buy it if you decide to sell. smile

Not quite the fence post I would prefer, but it'll do.
Ruger 77 MKII 25-06 my newest gun my wife don't know about! The wood inserts grew on me and now I have two guns wearing these stocks with the wood inserts. Im all out of them now, but with two stocks that will need them in the future it looks like a good summer project with some wood working tools. grin

The .270 is the greatest hunting catridge ever designed. To dispute this fact is to only justify our loonieism in owning and hunting with inferior cartridges.

How about rail fence photos?
Here's my 1894 Marlin .44-40 WCF that a friend built from pieces. He made the stocks from scratch and did the case coloring himself. The 26-inch octagon barrel started life on a 1893 Marlin as a .32-20. He bored it out, cut rifled it and rechambered it to .44-40.

My wife and I closed out our early California deer season Sunday. I took a fence post pic on Friday. This rifle is a veteran hunter. It started life as a standard weight 30-06 with the low comb stock. I put the Monte Carlo stock and the FW barrel on it several years ago.

The old cowboys called the higher hill in the background "forkhorn hill" because they said you could always get a forkhorn there.

As it happened we sat near the bottom of "forkhorn hill" Saturday evening and this little buck wandered around the point. I already killed one forkhorn this season and I was looking for something bigger but I didn't want to burn a tag.
